Dalyan is also famous for a five-kilometer long natural sandbar which separates the sea from the river delta. Here you can enjoy beautiful sand beaches, sunshine, and warm weather seven months of the year. These beaches are also the preferred spawning place of the Caretta Caretta Turtle, who lays its eggs in the sand before returning to the sea. But while these features alone make Dalyan a lovely place to visit and spend a summer holiday, there is much more to see and do!

Dalyan's beautiful scenery and clean water make it the ideal place to get wet! And after a day of fun and excitement, you can relax with a thermal mud bath, where the 40 degree Celsius water is known for its therapeutic properties. The people of Asia Minor have been enjoying these thermal pools and baths for thousands of years! You can also enjoy a Turkish bath, or Hamam, in which your skin will be scrubbed and cleaned with meticulous care. You'll also have a better suntan if you've been to the Hamam.

The ancient city of Caunos is also nearby, with several sites there which are still well-preserved, including the acropolis, city walls, the theater, temples, the baths, nymphaeum, and churches. This city is believed to date back to 3,000 years BC and was once a major port between Caria and Lycia. You'll also see the ancient Lycian rock tombs which were carved to resemble temples, and which were the last resting place of ancient kings.

Dalyan also has a vibrant night life, with many bars, discos, and restaurants catering to the locals as well as the tourists. There are also "Turkish nights" where you can enjoy traditional Turkish floor shows, with music and dancing.
